Capaldi was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and lived there until he was 4 years old. Capaldi has roots in Scotland, Ireland, and Italy. He is the fourth and last child. As part of The Scottish Music Centre’s Hit the Road project, Capaldi went on a three-stop tour in 2014. He played with Jacob and Rory Green, as well as Zo Bestel, in Dumfries, Edinburgh, and Fort William. When he was 18, his manager Ryan Walter found him through an iPhone recording he made in his bedroom and put on his SoundCloud page. Capaldi was nominated for three Brit Awards in 2020, and he won two of them. The album sold more than one million copies in the UK by September 2020.

Capaldi said that he was canceling all of his upcoming shows so that he could work on his second album, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent.

In June 2021, it was said that a documentary had been made about Capaldi’s career.

He came back in the summer of 2022 to play the shows he had to cancel, including his headlining spots at the TRNSMT Festival, the Latitude Festival, and the Isle of Wight Festival.

“Forget Me,” the lead single from Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, was his first song to start at the top of the UK Singles Chart.

In the same month, he also came out with a line of pizzas called Big Sexy Pizza. Capaldi said in October 2022 that Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent will come out on May 19, 2023.
